Girl, 15, among 5 arrested in murder probe after man stabbed to death in street
A 15-year-old girl has been arrested as part of a murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death in Birmingham.
The teenager is being held after the victim was found slumped on Bristol Road in the Bournbrook area of the city on Saturday just before 5pm.
She has not been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The man, whose identity is unknown, was rushed to hospital where he died at around 6.15pm.
The girl and a 28-year-old woman were both were arrested at the scene and remain in police custody.
Three men from Nottingham- aged 22, 30 and 40 – were arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Bristol Road has now reopened following a lengthy closure, but a police scene remains in Mill Pool Way.
Detective Inspector Stu Mobberley, who is leading the West Midlands Police investigation, said: “We’ve made rapid progress overnight having worked with colleagues at Nottinghamshire Police to arrested three men we believe were involved in the stabbing.
“Our enquiries continue and we are actively seeking at least one other person.
“I still really need to hear from anyone who was in Mill Pool Way, Bournbrook, at around 4-5pm yesterday and who saw what happened or any disorder to get in touch.
“They may have seen something important so please call.”
